Terms of Service
Effective Date: January 1, 2026
Company: ParcelPal.in
Important: Marketplace Disclaimer
ParcelPal is a technology marketplace only. We connect buyers with travelers. We do not sell, buy, ship, store, insure, or handle any goods. All transactions are strictly between the buyer and the traveler. The Platform assumes no liability whatsoever for any goods, services, conduct, delays, losses, damages, customs actions, or disputes arising from the use of this platform. By using ParcelPal, you acknowledge and accept this in full.
Nature of Service
- Intermediary status: The Platform acts strictly as a technology intermediary under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000. We provide a marketplace for buyers to connect with travelers for the purchase and delivery of items.
- No direct sale: The Platform is not a retailer, seller, or courier. The contract of sale and delivery is strictly between the buyer and the traveler.
- No agency: Travelers are independent contractors, not employees or agents of the Platform. The Platform is not liable for the acts, errors, or omissions of travelers.
User Eligibility & KYC
- Indian citizens only: Services are available strictly to individuals with a valid Indian bank account and government-issued ID (Aadhaar/PAN).
- Mandatory verification: Users agree to complete identity verification via our KYC partner. A one-time verification fee of ₹50 is required. The Platform reserves the right to suspend any account that fails KYC or appears on any AML (anti-money laundering) watchlist.
Anti-Hawala & Fair Pricing Policy
- Bona fide transactions: All transactions must represent a bona fide purchase of physical goods. Any transaction suspected to be a cover for transferring money (remittance/hawala) without goods movement is strictly prohibited.
- Fair market value check: The Platform uses automated tools (Rainforest API) to validate item prices. We may block or cancel any listing where the listed price deviates significantly (over 25%) from the global market average.
- Prohibited financial acts include listing cash or currency as an item, paying a traveler outside the Platform (off-app settlement), or listing low-value items at high values to transfer funds.
- Reporting: The Platform is legally required to report suspicious financial patterns to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU-IND) under the PMLA Act.
Customs & Prohibited Items
- Traveler as importer: The traveler is the importer of record for all items carried and is responsible for declaring items to Indian Customs and paying applicable duties.
- Prohibited items include gold, silver, or precious stones (in any form); alcohol, tobacco, or narcotics; drones, satellite phones, or restricted electronics; currency over $5,000 USD equivalent; and commercial quantities (more than 2 units of the same electronic item).
- Right to inspect: The traveler may open and inspect any package before accepting it to ensure it matches the description and contains no contraband.
Payment & Connection Fees
- Connection fee model: To unlock chat and exchange contact details, both the buyer and the traveler must pay a one-time connection fee. The buyer pays when traveler delivery requests are available; the traveler pays when their delivery request is accepted. This fee covers platform operations, identity verification, dispute resolution, and secure messaging infrastructure.
- Direct settlement: The Platform does not hold, escrow, or process the product payment. Once connected, the buyer and traveler settle the product cost and delivery logistics directly between themselves. The Platform is not responsible for any payment made outside the platform.
- One-time KYC fee: A non-refundable fee of ₹50 is charged during onboarding to cover identity verification costs. This is separate from the per-connection fee.
- Non-refundable connection fee: The connection fee is strictly non-refundable once paid, regardless of the outcome of the transaction between the buyer and the traveler.
- Escrow coming soon: The Platform intends to introduce escrowed product payments in the future, where funds will be held securely until delivery is confirmed. Until this feature is available, all product payments are settled directly between the buyer and the traveler.
Dispute Resolution
- Internal resolution: Disputes between buyers and travelers will be handled by the Platform’s internal team. The Platform’s decision is final and binding.
- No arbitration guarantee: The Platform facilitates dispute resolution as a courtesy. It does not act as a mediator, arbitrator, or adjudicator in any legal sense.
- Time limit: Disputes must be raised within 7 days of the expected delivery date. Claims raised after this period may be dismissed.
Liability Disclaimer & Waiver
Please read this section carefully. By using ParcelPal you agree to all terms below.

- NO LIABILITY FOR CUSTOMS SEIZURE: The Platform is not liable for any confiscation, seizure, fine, penalty, or prosecution imposed by customs authorities (India, US, or any other jurisdiction). If a traveler fails to declare an item or carries prohibited goods, the traveler bears full legal and financial liability.
- NO LIABILITY FOR THEFT, LOSS, OR DAMAGE: The Platform does not insure goods at any stage. During transit, the buyer’s sole remedy is against the traveler. THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS, DAMAGE, OR THEFT OF GOODS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
- NO LIABILITY FOR DELAYS: The Platform is not responsible for losses, damages, or inconvenience caused by flight delays, cancellations, customs holds, logistics delays, or changes in the traveler’s itinerary. All delivery dates are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
- NO LIABILITY FOR USER CONDUCT: The Platform is not liable for any fraudulent, negligent, illegal, or harmful conduct by any user (buyer or traveler). Users transact at their own risk.
- LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE PLATFORM’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE USE OF THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE CONNECTION FEE COLLECTED BY THE PLATFORM FOR THE SPECIFIC TRANSACTION IN QUESTION.
- INDEMNIFICATION: By using the Platform, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless ParcelPal, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or rights of a third party.
